Continental Divide Trail (CDT): Welcome to High Country! On top of the world in Montana! The Continental Divide Pack Trip is a 7-day roving camp, adventure travel trip, which focuses on a horseback trail ride along and over the famous Rocky Mountain Continental Divide.   On a path as long, high, and remote as the Continental Divide Trail, there is little room for gear four to six months of walking, CDT thru-hikers have a laundry list of concerns that outpace those of many other long trails: grizzly bears, lightning storms, avalanche danger, unmarked or non-existent trails, long food and water carries, weeks at altitude, and raging snowmelt-filled.

The Continental Divide Trail explores this iconic crown jewel of America's trails with more than spectacular contemporary images, historical photos and documents from the Continental Divide Trail Coalition archives, and detailed maps. Readers can experience the trail as if their boots were on the 3,mile path. This beautifully produced volume makes accessible the highest and most remote. Hello and welcome to the results of the Continental Divide Trail Thru-hiker Survey! This is now my second year doing this project and would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to participate. You're amazing people. Also, thank you to everyone who was patient in waiting for the release of this year's survey.

Pmags Quick & Dirty Guide is an excellent online planning source for the Continental Divide Trail. Lots of useful links (e.g. maps, guidebooks, journals, films, books) combined with helpful information for first-time thru hikers. The Continental Divide Trail Coalition (CDTC) lists only about hikers a year attempting the full trail. On the A.T. you might encounter that many people in a single day. And only about one-third as many people, a few more than 50 hikers, have reported successfully completing a CDT thru : REI Staff.
